When you’re living with a mental health condition, everyday life can feel overwhelming. Tasks like keeping up with bills, staying on top of medications, or even maintaining a healthy daily routine can start to pile up. If you or someone you care about has been struggling in these areas, you might be wondering if there’s more support available than just weekly therapy sessions.
That’s where Mental Health SkillBuilding Services (MHSB) come in.
So, what exactly is Mental Health SkillBuilding?
Mental Health SkillBuilding is a communitybased program designed specifically for adults who have a qualifying mental health diagnosis and need extra support to live more independently.
Instead of meeting in an office, a trained professional works with you in your home and community to help with the skills you need for daily life. That might include:
- Managing and taking medications as prescribed
- Keeping up with appointments and followthrough on treatment plans
- Learning budgeting and moneymanagement skills
- Developing routines for cooking, cleaning, and selfcare
- Building coping skills to handle stress and stay stable
The focus is on teaching and practicing skills so you can gain confidence and feel more in control of your life.

-

If you’re not sure whether you or a loved one qualifies, we can help you figure that out.
How long does the program last?
Skillbuilding services are designed to be shortterm support, but the length can vary depending on your progress and needs. Many adults participate for several months, and services can continue as long as there’s a demonstrated need and approval from insurance.
How can Mental Health SkillBuilding help?
Clients often tell us they feel more capable and less stressed after learning how to stay on top of routines and responsibilities. Families often notice improvements in organization, stability, and overall wellbeing. It’s about building a foundation that lasts far beyond the program itself.
