The Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) is a state-mandated substance abuse education and intervention program designed to promote safe and responsible driving behavior among individuals who have been convicted of a driving under the influence (DUI) offense. ASAP assessments are an integral part of the program, as they help identify the severity of substance abuse problems and develop personalized treatment plans.
Our ASAP assessments are conducted using ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria by Licensed Professional Counselors and involve a comprehensive review of the participant's medical and driving histories, substance use patterns, and psychological and social factors that may have contributed to their DUI offense. Based on the assessment findings, a personalized treatment plan is developed that may include education, counseling, and monitoring to address substance abuse and prevent future DUI offenses.
The primary goal of ASAP assessments is to help individuals overcome substance abuse problems and make positive changes that will lead to safer driving behaviors and improved quality of life. By participating in the ASAP program and completing the required assessments, individuals can meet court requirements, avoid further legal consequences, and rebuild their lives after a DUI offense.
The assessments take 1.5 hours and are $300. This includes a detailed report submitted to your ASAP case manager no later than 2 weeks post assessment.
There is a $100 non refundable scheduling fee due at the time of scheduling. This fee is applied to the total cost of the assessment. The remainder of the fee is due at the time of the assessment.
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy.
